Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to become part of an established and friendly team within Burton-on-Trent!

You will be working 36 hours per week, with the opportunity for overtime if required, as part of a team caring for a younger adult with an acquired brain injury. Working alongside some of the resident’s family members, as well as other care professionals, you will be ensuring that the service user has the best quality of life possible.

The service user likes to be active and takes part in trips within the local community including bowling, trips to the cinema. We are looking for someone who will engage with the service user throughout the day and take an active role in making their life the best possible!

Your duties will include:
– Following the care plan to ensure that the service users’ routines are followed to prevent any distress.
– Conduct personal care activities – inc. showering, catheter and bowel care
– Remaining engaged and patient with the service user
– Domestic duties
– Administrating medication
– Recording observation checks

We are looking for someone who has a driving licence and is willing to drive the pool car to various activities and appointments.

This role has become available as one of the longstanding team members is retiring so if you are an outgoing, bubbly character looking for a permanent role then this is the one for you!

Hourly Rate: You will be paid £12.35 per hour – after joining the client on a permanent the pay will increase accordingly.
Working Hours: You will initially be working day shifts as per rota which involves working alternate weekends. However, after 6 to 12 months you will also be working nights as part of your rota. Hours include: 09:00 to 20:00 09:00 to 14:00 14:00 to 20:00 20:00 to 09:00

Experience & Qualifications

To be suitable for this position you must have:

– An Enhanced DBS Certificate
– Up to date mandatory training certificates
– Full up-to-date CV
– A minimum of 3 months experience working within a hands-on care role
– A referenceable work history
– Full UK Driving Licence
– A bubbly and outgoing personality and a true passion to make the lives of those under your care as fulfilling as possible.
